We are very excited to announce the opportunity for the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum to participate in the 5th Annual Egypt Uncovered Tour and Lecture Series: Walk with the Egyptologists, sponsored by Seven Wonders and Quest Travel - Egypt.

Travel with Museum Curator Lisa Schwappach-Shirriff on this archaeologically based tour of Egypt, which offers the rare opportunity for behind the scenes site visits, tours and private lectures presented by the world’s leading scholars in Egyptology.

Special programs include:

  • A private tour of the Giza Plateau led by Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt,
  • A walk with Dr. Kent Weeks, Director of the Theban Mapping Project, through the Valley of the Kings and over the mountain to Deir El Medina,
  • A private lecture at the American University in Cairo presented by Dr. Salima Ikram, Director of the Animal Mummification Project at the Egyptian Museum,
  • A behind the scene visit to the excavation site of the Village of the Workers who built the pyramids with Dr. Mark Lehner, Director of the Giza Plateau Mapping Project.
  • A private tour at the Oriental Institute’s site at Medinet Habu, and Luxor Temple with Dr. Ray Johnson, Field Director of Chicago House and staff members.
  • An opportunity to sail the Nile with Kent and Susan Weeks, including daily lectures while sailing.

This tour and lecture series provides a rare glimpse into the lives of the ancient Egyptian people presented by the modern scholars who know it best.
