Description:
This funerary stela demonstrates the continuity of Egyptian culture even in times of political and social upheaval, such as the First Intermediate Period. Offerings await this family in the afterlife. The daughter , Mesi, clings shyly to her mother's skirts, while the son, Ankhu, stands boldly in front. He may have been the donor of the stela honoring his parents.
