The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum possesses the only Egyptian collection housed in a building of the style of ancient Egyptian architecture. It is situated in lovely Rosicrucian Park, an outdoor botanical garden and art display, featuring such art objects as this Egyptian Revival sphinx, which dates from the 1930's.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum

Are you interested in history, ancient Egypt, art, anthropology, archaeology, or museum studies? Are you considering a career path in one of these areas? Do you have a passion for all things Egyptian or ancient? Do you want to get involved with your community? Why don’t you try volunteering at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum?

Anyone with some time on their hands, a desire to assist a cultural institution and education, and curiosity is encouraged to apply. Students in high school and college and retirees are appreciated and encouraged to join us. This is a great way to explore a possible career path, fulfill community service requirements for graduation, or just delve into history and ancient cultures.

Volunteers can learn to give tomb tours and talks on various subjects such as mummification procedures, the mystery of the Rosetta Stone, and the true life of Cleopatra. After training, volunteers are encouraged to work with the curator and other volunteers in creating public workshops. There are opportunities to help out at fundraisers and monthly lectures and salons.

Benefits include attendance of museum lectures and events, free admission to the museum, a discount in the museum store, special training and seminars in small groups, and invitations to special volunteers-only events.

Do you speak another language in addition to English? We have a specific need for volunteers fluent in Spanish or French, although other languages such as Hindi, Japanese and Korean are also very much appreciated.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old (if under 18, a work permit from school and a signed parental consent form are required). There is an annual tuition fee for training. Volunteers are asked for a minimum time commitment per month of 8 hours. Please contact us for more information.
