Celebrating Rosicrucian Artists- Olga Deulofeu: Writings, Paintings, Acrylic and Mixed Media Works
September 1 - September 30, 2006

Olga Deulofeu, "The Dragonflies Lady" or "The Dot Lady," was born in Havana, Cuba, on December 11, 1949. She began writing poetry at the age of nine and began painting on cardboard in her teens. As materials were not available for painting, she focused her efforts on writing, and graduated from the University of Havana with a license in Hispanic American Literature. Her work has appeared in magazines and newspapers, and she has received top awards for her poetry in Cuba.

Olga Deulofeu came to the United States in 1992 with a humanitarium visa. In 1999 she began painting again in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Although she has never taken art classes, her lively and expressive artwork has been warmly and enthusiasically received by various audiences. Some of her favorite subjects include her beloved Cuba, whimsical animals, and the desert surrounded by mountains where she spends part of the year.
